Manchester City Football Club were formed in 1880 as West Gorton (St. Marks), they went on to become Ardwick A.F.C. in 1887 before finally becoming Manchester City F.C. in 1894.

Manchester City F.C. has had several Home grounds in it's history, including Hyde Road which was home for 36 years until it was damaged by fire in 1920, in 1923 Manchester City F.C. moved to the 84,000 seat Maine Road stadium which became it's home until the move in 2003 to City of Manchester Stadium
