Manchester United Football Club, was originally formed as the works team of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway works team and was known as Newton Heath LYR F.C. Newton Heath being their home ground.

They became Manchester United Football Club in 1902 and moved to Old Trafford stadium in 1910, since then it has become one of the most popular sports clubs in the world with over 50 million supporters world wide.
