Newcastle United Football Club was formed in 1892 by the merger of Newcastle East End FC and Newcastle West End FC, both of which had been formed by local Cricket Clubs.

Newcastle United have been playing at St James' Park since their formation in 1892, St James' Park has undergone several renovations over the years the last of which was completed in 2000.
