West Ham United Football Club, it is generally acknowledged that the origins of West Ham are from a team formed by workers from the Thames Ironworks and known as Thames Ironworks Football Club, this club was dissolved in June 1900 and reformed as West Ham United F.C. in July 1900. The nicknames 'The Irons' and 'The Hammers' come from these early roots.

West Ham's home ground is Upton Park officially known as Boleyn Ground, they have been there since 1904 and are said to be considering moving to the London Olympic Stadium after the 2012 Olympics.
